Element Dance Company specializes in performing Contemporary Urban Latin Fusion, including Salsa, Samba and Afro Cuban.

Created in Leeds in 2005, Element Arts are a family: a collective of fierce and talented female dancers, choreographers and artists with specialisms a huge variety of dance styles.

Element Arts make Art from the Heart: our ethos, classes and shows are inspired by the elements, working in harmony with Mother Nature. We believe that Art can heal the world and through this concept, we strive to connect hearts with our classes. After all, the Earth without art is just eh!

Background

The Company have been all over the world teaching and performing. Performances and Masterclasses have taken Element Arts to the USA (Boston and NYC), India (Chennai, Mombai, New Delhi), Cuba (Havana), Europe: UK, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Serbia, Sweden, Croatia and Finland.

In 2007, Element Arts won ‘Best Show’ for ‘Andar La Gata’ at the European Salsa Championships at Salsa UK. The company have been finalists in 2014 and 2015 for Best Brazilian Teacher and Company with the Latin Lukas awards. In 2013, the company founder (Ella Mesma) established a Latin Dance Theatre festival Roots of Rumba which continues to curate and tour.

Element Arts have performed on Strictly Come Dancing, T4 (Channel 4) and have featured in music videos for TY, Franz Ferdinand, Submotion Orchestra, and performed for artists such as Major Lazer, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Drummagik, Heatwave. The Company have performed at Birmingham NEC, Trafalgar Square (National Peace Week), Royal Armories (Leeds), O2 Arena (London Latin Festival), Mambo City, Floridita, Scala and Big Dance to name a few. Clients have included Redbull, Sagatiba, Havana Club, Sadler’s Wells, O2 Arena, Wembley Stadium, HBOS and many more…
