Dear all
I put out a post yesterday and I still stand by it (see below)
However I have spent a week watching the COVID 19 crises unfold across the world and sort advice from medics and professional and I have concluded, however sad it is, that to go ahead with a dance event would be irisponsible and not in the interest of our dancing community or their families and friends. So as of today Salsatricity will not be running until further notice.
But we will be back and we will get you back dancing again when this is all over and I am so grateful to the teachers and DJs and dancers who I have been able to talk to who have given full support however sad they feel.
I have said all this week we need to pull together as a dancing community and look after each other and do what is right for each other…not for an individual …..this Is not the flu. It does not just effect the old. It effects our community and an Italian doctor said it is 10 times worse than the flu and we all have a responsiblity to try and delay it.
Travel and close social contact will not help.
I had hoped that the closer dances of Kizomba and Sensual bachata should be avoided and that salsa would be fine if we regularly washed out hands but we cannot avoid the aerosols. I had even instructed the teachers to increase Dominican Bachata and keep the Kizomba moves more distant!!
The Government is going into the delay phase and with that comes social distancing. Plus reduced travel and we cannot know who was in a venue up to 3 days before and has it been regularly cleaned with the correct cleanser?
On top of that Hertfordshire has the highest number of known cases in the UK and we are on the edge of London with more than 25 % of the known cases; but the message from Italy and China is there are sooooo many more already passing it on and infected than these figures are showing….
From a personal and a professional stand point this hurts but to continue will hurt the dancing and the general community and folk we love. so stay safe…practice at home and see you on the other side…in the meantime we have social media to keep our spirits up….and alive

From day 1 and for over 10 years, we have had hand sanitiser, perfume and aftershave, deodorants plus mints on the door.
The health and well being of all our dances has always been a high priority. We are not banning older guests but making sure it is safe for everyone. Please keep an eye on our website www.salsatricity.com
We also add dance etiquette and personal hygiene information as well as amazing dance footwork and moves to our dance classes.
EVERYONE should ALWAYS be discerning where they dance even without the virus as it is a close contact sport.
We always have had the sanitiser gel on the door and attract a dance crazy rather than drinking or purely socialising crowd to an exclusive venue.
We are asking all our teachers and guests to be alert regarding hygiene and health. Follow the Government guidelines and please stay at home if you are not feeling well or recently been in contact with the virus or returned from an area that has been outlines as at risk
We have a large spacious venue and we dance as a crowd in a regular basis so look after and our for each other.
The outcome of this virus is dependent on everyone pulling together and following the guidelines regarding washing hands and touching faces so we ask you to respect that.
